Milwaukee (October 5, 2023).
Riverwater Partners congratulates our Director of Responsible Investing and Chief Mindfulness Officer Cindy Bohlen for being named a finalist for the 2023 Sustainable Business Award from the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council (WSBC). Cindy has been named a Sustainable Leadership Champion Finalist.
The Sustainable Business Awards celebrate recipients for showing cutting-edge environmental, social, and governance leadership while rewarding them for being leaders in their industry and community. The finalists demonstrate leadership, initiative, and innovation and make measurable impacts across their businesses and the communities they serve.
Cindy Bohlen is the driving force for sustainability and responsibility at Riverwater Partners, leading our certification and reporting efforts, including B Corporation Certification and reporting to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment. Cindy also was integral to Riverwater Partners becoming a Water Champion through The Water Council.
Promoting sustainability within Riverwater, Cindy implemented tracking of various metrics like volunteer hours, carbon emissions, diversity data, training hours, charitable donations, steps taken, and security performance. This data-driven approach allows Riverwater to gauge its impact over time and pinpoint areas for improvement.
As responsible investors, Riverwater guides investee companies on their sustainability journeys. Cindy takes charge of engaging executives to demonstrate how sustainability benefits all stakeholders and improves financial outcomes. In 2022 alone, Riverwater provided educational resources to 19 companies, with five starting to publicly report their sustainability efforts—a significant milestone. Six of the companies engaged in 2021 have also begun publicly reporting their sustainability initiatives.
Jessy Servi Ortiz, Managing Director of WSBC, says, “Businesses play a crucial role in delivering solutions to customers and markets. These awards recognize Wisconsin businesses for delivering value through sustainable integration and driving sustainable adoption and innovation in the market.”
The Award winners will be announced at the WSBC Awards Reception at Findorff in Madison, on November 15, 2023. The WSBC hosts their annual conference the following day at TruStage.
