Our 2025 Sustainability Report explores how we harness the power of responsible investing to generate value for our clients, employees, communities, and planet.
This year’s report examines Riverwater’s three-pillar framework for responsible asset management — Due Diligence, Engagement, and Collaboration — through the lens of power: both the power to act and produce an effect, and the power that fuels the world’s electric grid. The report features portfolio company scorecards across our Sustainable Value and Small Cap strategies, highlights engagement dialogues that drove measurable improvements in responsible business practice, and showcases companies whose innovative products are reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions across industries.
A defining feature of this year’s report is Riverwater’s inaugural Climate Change Scenario Analysis, which evaluates how our utility holdings are positioned across four macro scenarios — from policy-and-market alignment to policy failure — and informs our ongoing engagement with portfolio companies on energy transition, water stewardship, and emissions reduction.
The report also documents Riverwater’s own impact as a firm: a B Corp score of 158.9 (nearly three times the median), zero net carbon emissions, over $100,000 donated to Milwaukee-area nonprofits, and 220 employee volunteer hours. These numbers reflect our belief that responsible investing begins at home — and that the power to create value extends well beyond the portfolio.
